WORDUP

"Usually I would pass even reading the music blogs that are all Independent Music!!! But this one was actually good because it did not seem like you had to be a scenester knowing the secret handshake to be allowed to read it. They have a good collection of artists from all over the map which is always what I like to see and they have this funny ad running on there site to bring (+44) to Singapore."

Puscifer update

Maynard James Keenan has posted an updated on his Puscifer project:

"Ok, music fans. Let the games begin. It's been a long time coming and we thank you for your patience. The Cuntry Boner CD single is now available for pre-order exclusively at www.puscifer.com and will be shipped the first week of October. As promised, there will be even more music to follow. We're just now finishing up the video for "Queen B" and that should be up on iTunes in a few weeks. We're also putting together a Pre-release E.P. for iTunes called "Don't Shoot The Messenger". We will of course keep you posted. Pop by the shopping cart for new stuff. Plenty of little items with which to stuff stockings, turkeys, and private areas. Pre-orders for the full length album "V is for Vagina" (in stores and on iTunes on Oct 30th 2007) will begin shortly. So as you can see, we've been very very busy little bees. Damn, this is fun. You should try it. Oh, and we finally got around to putting up a U-Tube page and a "friends of Puscifer" section at http://puscifermusic.com so you can check out who else has been involved. Peace. mjk"

The Secret Handshake

Well, The Secret Handshake's new album "One Full Year" is "officially" out today! And Luis is happy, as you can see from his video blog:

---

Well, it wasn't a random beat down

Previously, we reported that Mastadon guitarist Brent Hinds received a beat down after the MTV Video Music Awards. It was originally thought that Hinds had been randomly jumped, but now it has come out that the head injuries that landed him in the Las Vegas hospital came courtesy of System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian and musician William Hudson. Hinds suffered brain hemorrhage, a broken nose, and two black eyes as a result of the beating. The Las Vegas Weekly reported the following:

"An inebriated Hinds was leaving Mandalay Bay around 3 a.m. when he encountered Odadjian and musician William Hudson at the hotel's west valet area. Hinds took off his shirt and hit Odadjian with it, then struck Hudson in both the face and chest, prompting Odadjian to advise Hinds 'to relax,' several times.

"The police report then indicates both Odadjian and Hudson punched Hinds in the face, knocking him to the ground. An unidentified friend of Hinds, who reportedly witnessed the event, rushed to the musician's aid and apologized to Odadjian and Hudson, saying Hinds was 'just drunk,' according to the police report. Odadjian and Hudson were both questioned by police on the scene. No charges had been filed at press time, though the police report lists Hudson as a 'suspect,' facing a possible charge of 'battery with substantial bodily harm.' The police report lists Odadjian as a 'witness.'"
