Contest: TRAPT album + autographed poster giveaway

Cali long-time hard rockers Trapt released their third, most ambitious yet, album "Only Through The Pain..." last month, and are currently on the road for the month of September. To celebrate their return, the band created a social network, OnlyThroughthePain, where fans can stream the new tracks, download customizable Trapt content, interact with other fans as well as the band. Read on for a little bit more behind the album title:

"This record should be called "only through the pain" as the subject matter is largely based on trusting your emotions and having the courage to admit our mistakes. When I say trusting your emotions, I mean really feeling the pain of life as well as the pleasure. It hurts to admit when you are wrong and it hurts to admit that you were taken advantage of, but if we don't take responsibility for ourselves we will be hurt time and time again. Sometimes, we have to go through pain in one relationship to truly appreciate the joy of another. I am thankful for every relationship I have, be it friend or lover. Each one teaches you something about life and people. I really feel like the idea of appreciating good things through having to go through the bad is important. What is happiness without pain? I think a lot of people are just afraid to feel anything. It takes a lot of courage. I feel that through the pain we experience, we learn what is right for us. When we are young, we start out trusting everyone. Sometimes the older we get, the more distrusting of others we can become. We can become numb to the pain that others cause us through trusting them. We have to fight against this tendency and have the courage to feel all of our emotions to the fullest. We have to be able to trust our instincts and let our emotions guide them. If we can't feel, we can't really trust ourselves and therefore we can't trust others. We have to get used to the idea of pain if we want to be truly happy in our lives."
